Holly and Jesse are such a sweet, adventurous couple. They spent the summer before their wedding backpacking across the U.S.! They camped in the woods, climbed mountains, and swam in the river. That’s why their rustic, outdoor wedding was so special. I was very excited when Dallas wedding photographer Cristy Angulo Tapia of Cristy Angulo Photography invited me to document this wedding with her at Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve in Plano, Texas. Autumn weddings make me so happy and this one was no different. For anyone searching for a scenic outdoor venue in the Dallas area, this location is ideal!
The day was cloudy was but the light was soft and natural – gorgeous lighting conditions! We donned our rain boots for the ceremony in the woods but thankfully the weather held. Each detail was perfect. The tables decor was rustic but elegant, and included succulents and wooden place cards etched with the names of each guest. My favorite part, a dessert table overflowing with cupcakes of various flavors, added to the enchanting atmosphere. From the bicycle cake topper to the vintage bicycle wheels hanging from the venue’s ceiling, the family gave much attention to the details that highlighted the couple’s love for adventure.
I’ll never forget Holly and Jesse’s first look. The two glowed with happiness! Later, when Holly walked down the aisle to meet Jesse, his face shone just as brightly with love for his bride. Many happy tears were shed. As the guests stood by the couple while they shared their vows, it was simply magical to be surrounded by the forest. After the ceremony, the couple played lawn games in the field with their family and friends. The entire day was joyful!
It was an honor to be a part of such a celebration. I loved documenting Holly + Jesse’s love story and I’m thrilled to share their images with you! Enjoy!
