Tristan + Travis | Bishop Arts Engagement Session | Dallas Texas

When we first met to discuss their vision for their portraits,  Tristan told me they wanted a location that is different, but also something that makes sense for them as a couple. I think we can all agreed that this classic Bishop Arts Engagement session suits Tristan & Travis perfectly. We started with a quiet Sunday afternoon coffee at The Wild Detectives and ended with pastries at Emporium Pies. What a splendid date!

Walking along the urban streets of Oak Cliff in an elegant floral dress and three-piece suit, Tristan and Travis told me more about their story. They went to the same high school but were one grade apart, so they didn’t cross paths until years later. After meeting on OkCupid, their first date was at El Chico and lasted for 3 hours. Their dating anniversary is April 25th – “the perfect date.” (“Not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket!”)

I absolutely loved spending time with them in the cute shops and strolling through the streets window shopping. They told me their favorite part about living in Dallas is visiting to White Rock Lake and the Arboretum. They also enjoy going on walks together and exploring new ice cream shops.

To wrap up this trendy Bishop Arts Engagement session, I asked Tristan to tell me about the proposal. In her own words:

  • How did the proposal go?

Travis took me to dinner one night and seemed nervous. When we got back to my apartment he told me he needed me to wait to for him before I went inside because he had forgotten his spare key. When we walked in, I noticed a teddy bear sitting on the coffee table. When I went to over to look at it, I saw my childhood teddy bear was propping the new one up and was holding a ring box. I picked it up and turned around to find Travis on one knee. He asked, and I said yes!

  • Who picked the ring?
Travis picked the ring 100% by himself. He wanted to do something different so picked a ring with my birthstone. He said it was the only one that “spoke to him” when he saw it.

Sounds like a perfect match to me. They get married this Saturday and I can’t wait to document their love story!
